International Women’s Day is an annual day on 8th March with the mission of achieving equality for women and celebrate their achievements.
A study of the VFX industry by Women in Animation, an advocacy group, and the USC Annenberg Inclusion Initiative showed that less than 3% of VFX Supervisor roles were held by women and less than 1% by women of colour. Stats that haven’t changed by much over the years.
To highlight women in VFX, World VFX Day has partnered with UpliftHER to create a series of online talks that will be streamed on 8th March, with speakers from the VFX industry and beyond. Topics include:
